Most centrepieces are mostly, if not entirely, comprised of traditional flowers. Many people however, make the mistake of regarding flower centrepieces as the only option. Instead why not go for something a little more inventive and unique.

There are thousands of potentially amazing centrepieces out there, and here are my top 5 show stopping centrepieces.

5. Water:Water adds an elemental, fluid, feeling to the table. It has connotations with new life and the cleansing of the body from sin. Marriage is the beginning of a new life so they merge perfectly. Water works well when combined with flowers (particularly submerged gerbera I find), with floating candles or with a waterfall type effect.

4. Candles:Candles are deeply symbolic, connected with the idea of the light and warmth of love. They add a certain intimacy and conjure the idea of romance. Fire also has connotations with purification and new life, perfect for a wedding as you begin your new lives together.
It is practical for the candle to be covered (particularly if there are children at the wedding), perhaps in a stylish votive holder or be original with an old fashioned style lantern.

3. Crystals:Crystals have links with good luck and healing so are a good omen at a wedding. More than that they provide an interesting and different centrepiece which encourages people to touch and interact with it. Weddings with a lot of children are a great chance to use crystals, children love them and can often be encouraged to sit playing quietly (well....quieter) during speeches and toasts.

2. Themed Centrepieces: Themes don’t have to be all encompassing - little hints of a theme can work well without overloading the senses. Use an objective friend or a wedding planner to make sure you don’t get lost in the theme or it can end up looking massively overdone.
Examples of themes are:

Seasons – For Autumn using leaves and pine cones look great, especially with leaf shaped confetti scattered around the table. This looks great and is environmentally friendly. You can also ‘spice it up’ a little with glitter.
For winter, its pure whites teamed with clear crystals and icy tones. Lights and glitter really set off this look.

Cultural - Take inspiration from your own background. With an Irish background you may consider using elements such as greens shamrocks (a bit predictable but always festive), the heraldic harp, Celtic cross, Celtic love knot, and the Claddaugh.
Oriental style themes could use red and black colours (for luck), Shoji lanterns, black or white pebbles and, of course, chop sticks.

Beach theme- While it does sound rather tacky, this can be done in a variety of ways. The restrained way generally involves quite muted colours such as blues etc, pebbles or shells, sand and maybe even faux beach debris.

It all sounds a bit much but, when done well, can look amazing. Now, if you’re planning on a more outgoing take on the beach theme why not go all out with brightly coloured shells and maybe even a tiny fake palm tree or two.... tacky yes, but definitely different and memorable.

1.Photos:

Photos can be a great way to make everyone feel involved, particularly in smaller weddings. A place setting with a photo on (or a baby photo if you’re feeling cruel!) makes the extra effort.
A great idea is to leave disposable cameras on the tables and develop the pictures later. A variant on this is to get Polaroid cameras with somewhere to stick the resulting photos in the centre of the table. It’s great to get people chatting, particularly if respective families haven’t met before. It also leaves you with a great keepsake.

What’s important to remember is that these can all be combined in any number of variations. Photos obviously go great with anything (except water!) while candles add to any number of themes (especially Oriental). But the important thing is, when everyone is giving you ideas, take other peoples thoughts on board but ultimately be led by your own vision....and don’t be afraid to experiment!
by: Sarah McCormackUnknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8725750023711252890.post-5247577431459188482007-10-05T16:50:00.000+08:002007-10-05T16:55:14.778+08:00Synthetic Bridal Jewelry: Excellent Choice At Affordable Price!Synthetic Bridal Jewelry: Excellent Choice At Affordable Price!. A bride considers herself to be born lucky when she wears her diamond wedding jewelries on her special day. But how many of them get this chance? Buying expensive diamond requires sufficient financial support and is not possible for everyone. But fortunately there are alternatives that would camouflage partially the unrealistic desire of the average bride.

Financially weak bride can also accessorize her bridal gown alternatively with synthetic diamond jewelry. Remember that making a hasty chase while purchasing bridal jewelries will end with doubts. Therefore it will be better if you give yourself enough time to shop around. Do not make it a rule to buy every thing on the same day of marketing because it is very difficult to compromise on certain elements of importance especially wedding jewelry. Take time, visit other shop, and shop another day, contact several dealers that are said to specialize in high-end and low-end bridal accessories. Following the same rule will surely save you a lot from extra expenses and help you to select judiciously giving you full satisfaction. Therefore it is clear that allowing a reasonable space of time to plan, will allow a bride to make wise financial decisions thus avoiding the risk of spending too much money on bridal jewelry and other wedding related items.

Let’s do some research on the synthetic jewelries that are designed to resemble diamonds. Rhinestones are synthetic jewels financially affordable generally made of glass but some are also made from crystals. Take care when purchasing selecting "bridal jewelry" made of rhinestones. Do not go for cheaper because they can mar your "bridal outlook". Select your bridal jewelry especially made of rhinestones carefully because some rhinestone materials have brilliance and luminosity, which could be visible in the photograph that appears as a black dot.

Similarly synthetic jewelries made of Swarovski "crystals are" known to be the more economical, elegant and stylish choice for modern brides. Unlike rhinestones, Swarovski crystals highly resemble diamonds, in their brilliance and luminosity. For their high resemblance with diamond they have also been worn by, many celebrities down the Red Carpet. You can consult with Swarovski jewelry dealer who can show you much Swarovski jewelry that can be said the twins of diamond. One finds it difficult to differentiate Swarovski jewelry from diamond. They are so alike in brilliance. For better result you can also browse net for bridal jewelry dealers that specialize in Swarovski crystals. You can also buy online from these online dealers at more affordable prices.
by: Pop12Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8725750023711252890.post-44866285022345399622007-09-09T19:01:00.000+08:002007-09-09T19:07:21.993+08:00Wedding Taboos Part 4 - Is This Your 3rd Time Being Bridesmaid?Wedding Taboos Part 4 - Is This Your 3rd Time Being Bridesmaid?. Some ladies jump at every opportunity to be bridesmaids. Some need to carefully think about it for some time before they commit to the task. Here, we are seeing 2 different types of bridesmaids.

From experience, we were lucky that my wife’s "bridesmaids" were very committed and responsible. Part of the smooth running of our wedding was because the bridesmaids ensured that the wedding day schedule was followed closely.Even, some male friends were asked to be “bridesmaids” and they were very helpful in being drivers as well as helpers in other aspects. For the first type of bridesmaids who always self-nominate themselves, it is quite possibly some may want to use such opportunity to flaunt themselves and even over-shadow the brides. Thus, there is a taboo being created to restrain wannabe brides: the bridesmaids must not be more beautiful than the bride.

However, this is not to mean in physical aspect but it actually meant that the bridesmaids must try not to have too heavy make-up or to wear too revealing clothes. In a way, this is not to divert too much attention off the main star - the bride onto the bridesmaids. However, I’m sure such people are rare and normally, bridesmaids are the bride’s best friends who really, from the bottom of their heart, to help out their best friend in such big life-transition event.Another taboo for brides is that they can’t be bridesmaids more than twice as it may affect their marital luck. There could be some ladies out there who may already be in the right age to get married but not hitched yet. They may need to pay more attention to the number of times they are bridesmaids. However, in this modern era, no one really bother much about this taboo.

I have friends who have been bridesmaids 8 times!!! And she doesn’t really mind because she has a very kind heart and want to help her friends out.In actual fact, the tasks for a bridesmaid is many.5 roles a bridesmaid need to commit to:

1. inform the bride of all the nitty-gritty aspects of her wedding schedule

2. be the bride’s personal assistant

3. be the bride’s make-up artist

4. help the bride’s get water, wipe her sweat off and remind her to relax5. remember all the customs and rituals that the bride needs to followIt is really a big responsibility and only ladies who are responsible, people-oriented, helpful and detailed can be bridesmaids. by: Jong RengUnknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8725750023711252890.post-90141036307426063022007-08-19T12:14:00.000+08:002007-08-19T12:24:25.464+08:00Choosing Your BridesmaidsChoosing Your Bridesmaids. You've got a sparkly ring on your finger, booked the church, and chosen a dress. Now it's time for a somewhat bigger problem: who to choose for your bridesmaids. For some brides, it's an easy task, for others, it involves hairsplitting and painful decisions.

Traditionally, "bridesmaids" would include the bride's sisters and close friends.
For some lucky brides, they know for sure who their "bridesmaids" are going to be even before the guy proposed, for others, choosing the members of the wedding party is a traumatic experience. This does not really answer the bridesmaid problem though. Sometimes the problem would be an overabundance of eligible bridesmaids that is nearly impossible to narrow down; sometimes the problem is a shortage of "bridesmaids" that it's nearly impossible to find anyone.

If you have a lot of potential "bridesmaids", list them all down and pick out which ones are closest to you, which ones you have known the longest and are most likely to help you with everything from wedding jitters to potential disasters. If your list is too long, because of some people who are there because of obligation, simply remove them from the list. It is not necessary to ask someone like your estranged sister to be a bridesmaid if you are not comfortable being with her, but if you would like to make a reconciliatory gesture by asking her, go ahead.

On the other hand, do not be guilt-tripped into asking someone just because you are expected to. Your wedding party should include the people you would like to share the happiest day of your life with, not the people you think should be included just for form's sake. Before booking your friends and sisters for dress fittings, you should know for sure what you expect your bridesmaids to do, and what duties you would require of them.

Do you want them to be involved with planning every detail of the wedding or just expect them to show up for the ceremony and reception? If your bridesmaids are needed with putting the wedding together then you should choose friends and family members that are or can be available during the planning stage. You should also choose people that can work together or are comfortable with each other. Instead of helping, bickering bridesmaids would be more of a hindrance.

If the "bridesmaids" were just required to show up for the rehearsal dinner and the wedding, then the criteria would only include who you would like to have in your wedding party and who would be available for the wedding day. This might involve a lot more hairsplitting than if bridesmaids are expected to help out. If the list of potential bridesmaids is still too long, some of your friends or family members could be requested to perform other duties instead, like doing the liturgical readings or the offertory during the mass.

Having a lack of possible bridesmaids might also be a problem, and if there are no distant relatives to scrounge up you could ask acquaintances or the groom's family to fill in the gaps. Of course, the same rules still apply - you don't have to ask anyone with whom you are not comfortable including in the wedding party just because you need another "bridesmaid".

Still, some brides opt to have "bride's men" in lieu of bridesmaids, or a "lad of honor" in addition to the bridesmaids. Of course, if you choose to ask your brothers or close male friends, you should make sure that your groom and your potential "bride's men" are ok with it. It is also good to check in case you might offend some sensibilities by including men in your wedding party, but of course you have the final say in whom to include or not to include. Remember, the wedding is for you and your fiancée, so don't waste time worrying over the wedding party. In the end, everybody who cares about you would still be there for you both, not just during the wedding day but for the rest of your lives.
By:Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8725750023711252890.post-88913767206193902822007-08-18T19:32:00.000+08:002007-08-18T19:36:45.265+08:00A Cherished Gift For Each BridesmaidA Cherished Gift For Each Bridesmaid. Many brides choose to give their bridesmaids a gift of the jewelry each wears to match their dresses. And others choose engravable gifts such as picture frames, compacts, trinket, jewelry and keepsake boxes, charm bracelets and key chains. These are all fine "gifts" and many times there is no charge for monogramming the items for each bridesmaid.

An inexpensive and more personal gift that the bride can give is to take candid shots of each attendant and arrange them in a photo album or personalized scrapbook. With the availability of one-use cameras, the bride can tuck one of these into her purse, and take photos while shopping for gowns and shoes, at the bridal shower, rehearsal dinner and bachelorette party. She should include individual pictures, group shots, as well as pictures of herself with each bridesmaid. Photos that are candid and funny will work better than those that are posed.

At Michaels, The Arts and Crafts Store, 12 x 12 stylized scrapbook pages range from .59 to .99 cents each. Or they can be purchased in 25 sheet packs of white or pastel cardstock for $5.99. Smaller sized packs come in 4 ½ x 6 ½, 6 x 6, and 5 ½ x 7 ½ inches. Cut outs can be purchased such as doves, flowers, hearts, wedding cakes, bells, churches, white satin gloves, and champagne bottles and glasses. Banners and alphabet packs are also available to customize the scrapbook pages.

The good thing about the bride working on this project, is that by working on a special gift for her dear friends, she will be helping to relieve stress from the frenzy of wedding planning. She will have fun assembling the photos and scrapbooking supplies, and give each friend a cherished keepsake of the wedding.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8725750023711252890.post-88503912686322092482007-08-02T14:43:00.000+08:002007-08-02T15:00:41.600+08:00Being A BridesmaidBeing A Bridesmaid. Bridesmaids are the faithful, caring attendants of the bride at weddings. Usually, they're girls or young women that bear some relational association to the upcoming bride, either a close friend or relative. They attend to the bride before and after a wedding ceremony. They're usually the ones in the movies that buoy the bride, listen to her fears, cheer her on, help her with preparations, and pass on the collective excitement. The maid of honor is the most esteemed bridesmaid, and she plays a principal part. There is no fixed bridesmaid quantity because the decision has historically been left to the bride. The size of the "bridesmaid" group is sometimes associated, as a reflection, with wealth, success, or, obviously, how popular the bride is.

The term has wrought an idiom in modern times that glumly says, "always the bridesmaid, never the bride." This phrase is set aside for those delegated to a role of prime importance, yet they always fall short of the high honor or central import of an event.

The history of bridesmaids dates back to Roman times when an army of similarly clad "bridesmaids" would accompany the bride to the new husband's locale or village. In essence, these guards would protect the bride from robbers and bandits. In later times, the Romans made it a law to have 10 witnesses present at a wedding in order to ward off evil, magical spirits that were determined to destroy the marriage's fruitful conception and progress. These attendants, both "bridesmaids" and ushers, dressed in identical wear to the groom and bride, thus confusing the evil spirits that wished harm on the couple-to-be.

Bridesmaids are customarily given gifts for their efforts and the bride's appreciation of their inherent qualities. After all, they're the ones the bride has chosen to publicly accompany her on the most important day of her new life. Some good gifts are necklaces, earrings, stark white & long gloves, and the wedding day attire itself. Personalized gifts that commemorate the day's special events and the "bridesmaids" participation, especially ones that are valuable too, are particularly appealing. They mark a feeling of togetherness and shared experiences. It's much more personal than a gift certificate.

If the wedding is at a tropical travel destination, consider a bounteous gift of a day's treatment at the spa. Just make sure that someone is there to take a picture afterward. Have it framed specially and send a copy to all the bridesmaids for their children and their grandchildren. Make an impact with your gift choice that won't be forgotten. Handmade scarves, bracelets, wine glasses, chocolates, bottles of wine, bath salts, body products, scented candles, etc. are all genuinely good too.

Dresses for bridesmaids are a particularly important element, and they come in Bella Satin, Chiffron, Crystal Chiffron, Duchess Satin, Matte Satin, Nu-Georgette, Organdy, Renaissance Satin, and others. They come in royal blue, midnight, mocha, ginger, flame, sage green, forest green, frosty white, rose, ruby, sapphire, sorbet, sugar plum, tangerine, taupe, ruby, perwinkle, and bright pink, plus many more colors.
By: Eric Hartwell-
Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8725750023711252890.post-62441437648274405132007-08-02T14:33:00.000+08:002007-08-18T19:26:12.113+08:00Bridesmaid Dresses VisitedBridesmaid Dresses Visited. When a woman has the honor of being asked to be an attendant at a wedding, probably the first thing that pops into her head is the "bridesmaid dresses". There are a whole bunch of horror stories about nasty looking dresses that were chosen as bridesmaid dresses. I have seen tons of awful looking gowns, the ones from the 80s seem to be especially hideous. There are still plenty of fine looking "bridesmaid dresses" out there, so be warned bridal attendants.

I had the honor of paying the maid of honor for my best friend’s wedding and we recently checked out a bridal store to try on our gowns. The bride chose a few bridal gowns and she chose a few "bridesmaid dresses" in advance. It's always a smart thing to do when you can take care of everything in advance because you never know it's going to come up that it's really great to have time to adjust for those surprises.

I tried on three bridesmaid dresses and I was relieved and impressed with the bride’s excellent fashion sense. When she told me that she wanted the "bridesmaids" to wear pink, strapless gowns, my heart may have stopped. I imagined a shocking pink flamingo look, form-fitting dress, that would point out every single flaw on my frame - yuck. We'll actually found or three lovely "bridesmaid dresses" that were complementary to any type of figure and you can't beat that.

The tough thing was actually willing down my choices to just one. The bride and I agreed which "bridesmaid dress" looked the best on the Internet, but we were pleasantly surprised to see that her number two choice, we liked even better. When I tried it on it felt comfortable and I felt at ease with that particular "bridesmaid dress".

The bridesmaid dresses or a whitish-pink, and though they are strapless, not my favorite choice, the bride decided to incorporate short jackets as an accessory for those of us who prefer not to attend church looking like Madonna. The jacket is clean and elegant, just as the lovely pink gown was. I think that I will be very happy with the bride’s choice.

This choice was really a no-brainer for the bride and I was relieved that I only had to try on three "bridesmaid dresses". You won't believe this but sometimes I have tried and dozens of dresses for a single wedding. I actually think that she knew which one I preferred and chose that one. I tried to keep my opinion to myself until after she made her choice. It was after all her wedding and her decision and I didn’t want to influence her in any way just to please me. She may have regretted being swayed and it's really not worth doing that. Fortunately for both of us she chose a great gown.

I saw many other gowns that were nothing short of horrendous. There were "bridesmaid dresses" that ballooned at the bottom like something out of Cinderella. There were bright orange dresses that made us look like the great pumpkin. I actually saw a gown, and I'm not making this up, that was strikingly similar to a ballerina’s tutu and I thanked the stars above that the bride in the wedding I’m attending or smart enough not to go for a number like this. Although the final decision has back treatment may get and she hasn't ordered the bridesmaid dresses yet so you never know...
By: Morgan Hamilton
Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8725750023711252890.post-42775352780182665682007-08-02T14:10:00.000+08:002007-08-02T14:30:31.285+08:00Bridesmaid ChecklistBridesmaid Checklist. The title of "bridesmaid" is an important honor that a married woman-to-be usually bestows upon her best friend or close relative. Besides assisting the bride with the planning of her wedding, calming her fears, and sharing the excitement, there are certain responsibilities and duties that a bridesmaid should become familiar with.

As the wedding dates slowly approaches, there are plenty of thought-out plans to last-minute preparations that a bridesmaid faces. Things need ordering, items picked up, and invitations sent out. Depending on the level of your involvement, you can become a true life saver or make things worse with your frantic approach. Below you will find a few things to keep in mind when given the responsibility and respect of holding the "bridesmaid" position. You may or not be given these tasks to complete, but it is a good thing to make a list and go over the bride's expectations.

Planning

A "bridesmaid" may help with finding a location for the wedding; ordering flowers; organizing the theme of the wedding; picking out the invitations and addressing them; shopping for decorations, selecting food and beverage, situating the seating arrangement; helping decide who to invite; purchasing the gifts for the maid-of-honor and bridesmaid gifts; and purchasing bachelorette party gifts and "bridal shower" mementos.

Dresses

The "bridesmaid" may assist the bride in picking out the dresses worn during the ceremony, as well as help her make a final decision on the dress she will wear on her special day. A bridesmaid may attend all of the bride's fittings and give her constructive criticism. It is also important that the bridesmaid attend all of her fittings so the bride doesn’t have to worry whether or not the "bridesmaid dresses" are a bust. It is also the responsibility of the "bridesmaid" to pick up her dress, try it on once again, and inspect the item to make sure there are no mistakes or flaws.

Wedding Shower

Before the wedding shower, a "bridesmaid" should make sure all of the favors are purchased. She should pick out a dress and decide what sort of gift she will bring, such as a naughty piece of lingerie for the honeymoon. The theme should be in place, decorations ordered and picked up on time. An array of games should be chosen and on hand for during the shower. Allotting various tasks to additional "bridesmaids" makes the process much easier. Food, drinks, and music are also details to consider.

During the "wedding shower", it is important to arrive early for setup. You may also write down which presents came from whom, to make sending thank-you notes for the bride easier to accomplish. A bridesmaid also stays behind to help with the cleanup process.

Rehearsal Dinner

The bridesmaid may help the bride plan when and where the rehearsal dinner will take place. A dress is needed to attend this event. You should also come early to help with the setup and decorations. "Bridesmaids" may need to have an informal toast prepared for the dinner and be on hand for cleanup.

Wedding Day

It is important to make sure that all the necessary makeup, dresses, and shoes are in place and accessible for the big day. Bridesmaids should arrive early for picture taking and to lend a helping hand to a bride who might be quite nervous. The bridesmaid gift is essential to the planning of a wedding. While many may believe that a wedding is all about the bride, it is still important to show appreciation to your bridesmaids. These are your right-hand ladies who have always been there for you. They have taken the time to be there and help you out on your special day and what better way of showing appreciation than getting them a bridesmaid gift. But how do you avoid getting a generic bridesmaid gift or something that they will just throw away when they get home? Here are some bridesmaid gift guidelines that should help you in your pursuit of finding the perfect bridesmaid gift.
1) Make it Personal.

The most important thing to remember when getting a "bridesmaid gift" is to get something personal. It is easy to give gift certificates or cards as gifts, but it is much more meaningful if you pick something out that you know they will enjoy. If you know their favorite actor/actress has a new movie out on DVD, get it for them along with some popcorn and candy. If they like to go to concerts, give them concert tickets to their favorite group. A personal and thoughtful gift demonstrates to your bridesmaid that you pay attention to them and their interests.

2) Keep it Simple. You do not have to worry about getting something incredibly elaborate for your bridesmaid gift. This is not your time to demonstrate that you are a natural Martha Stewart. Remember, this is your family and friends and they already know that this is not the case. Jewelry makes a great "bridesmaid gift". Everyone likesto get jewelry and it does not require you to cross-stitch pillows for each bridesmaid. Anklets or earrings make simple but elegant gifts. There is no need to try to be crafty with your "bridesmaid gift".

3) It does not have to be Expensive.

Weddings are already incredibly expensive; do not let the bridesmaid gift add to your debt. An expensive "bridesmaid gift" is not expected from your bridesmaids. You do not need to prove your love to your bridesmaids by getting them something that cost you a lot of money, you just need to get them something that shows that you care. One idea is to get your bridesmaids some stationary. Stationary is not expensive, but is something that is useful and everyone can use. Another idea is getting each "bridesmaid" their favorite flowers. This shows you care without emptying your wallet. If you are really tight on cash, you can always right them a personal thank you note. Just remember that you do not need to buy the love of your bridesmaids with your gift.

4) Make it Tasteful.

This is a request from someone who has been a bridesmaid several times. The cards that say "Maybe next time it will be you, but probably not" or "You don't look good in white anyway" get old real quick. I would stay clear from a gag bridesmaid gift unless you know for sure that your bridesmaids will really appreciate it. The bridesmaid gift is part of your wedding and you want it to be tasteful and appropriate to the occasion. A possible idea is getting your bridesmaids your favorite book. This is something that is tasteful, personal but doesn't require a lot of time ormoney. Also, you can give them a "relaxation kit" with your favorite scented candles and bath salts. Keep things elegant; your wedding is not a time for cheesy gifts.
While wedding plans can be very busy and even a little hectic, this does not mean you need to stress out about the "bridesmaid gift". Remember to keep things simple and work on getting something that will be useful to the bridesmaids. Your bridesmaids will appreciate your effort.

by: Kaitlin CarruthUnknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8725750023711252890.post-51042144437179011252007-07-30T13:53:00.000+08:002007-07-30T14:02:34.647+08:00Bridesmaid Jewelry to accent the NecklineBridesmaid Jewelry to accent the Neckline. When the time comes to select your bridesmaid jewelry for the special women in your "bridal party", there are many different styles of bridesmaid necklaces to choose from. The best way to select your bridesmaid necklaces is by looking at the neckline of the bridesmaid gowns. By using the neckline of the gown as a guide, you will be sure to find the right bridesmaid necklace to compliment your gowns and the color of the gowns properly.

The Bateau Neckline

The Bateau neckline is a high neckline that has almost no “scoop” to it at all. These necklines sometimes have a high back to them, but also can have a low or no back at all. There are a few styles of necklaces that are nicely worn with the bateau neckline. If the back of the dress is high (fabric to the neckline), then you will want to go with just one style of necklace, which is the choker style necklace. The choker style bridesmaid necklace is a tight fitting necklace that will wrap tightly around the upper neckline. A better fit for this style of gown with the high back may be just going with a pair of dangly earrings and a nice cuff bracelet. The other bateau neckline with no back or a low back can have a lariat style necklace worn with it. This style of necklace is adjustable in the front, so you can decide how far you want the front necklace line to go down your attendants "gowns". The back of the gown will be accented nicely with the lariat style necklace, as there will be two strands of pearls or crystals that dangle down the back line.

The Portrait Neckline

The Portrait neckline is an off the shoulder style dress that scallops in the front and usually has an embellishment in the center to pull the entire dress look together. There are many different styles of bridesmaids necklaces that can be worn with the portrait neckline. Chokers do look nice, as they assist in framing out the neckline. The Y-Drop or Pendant style necklace is a very complimentary style of bridesmaid necklace. This style of necklace will add the same form neckline as the dress, accented it nicely. One cue to take from this style of dress is the embellishment on the dress. If there are rhinestones on the dress, then choose a rhinestone style necklace, if they are pearls, wear pearls, the same with crystals as well. Another few styles that work nicely with this style of neckline is single, double and multiple strand necklaces. These style of necklaces provide an elegant draping feel to accent this style of neckline.

The Scoop Neckline

The scoop neckline is just as it sounds, a “U” shaped neckline that scoops down lower, sometimes in the back as well as the front. The best bridesmaid necklace to wear with this style of gown is a multiple strand necklace. The dramatic multiple strands of the necklace accent this style of neckline very complimentary. In addition to the multiple strand necklaces, single and double strand are also a great selection as well as the choker style necklace and y – drop or pendant style necklaces.
The Sweetheart Neckline

The sweetheart neckline is similar to the portrait, but this style of gown actually has a heart shaped opening in the front. This off the shoulder style dress is complimented well with a choker style necklace, a pendant necklace or multiple and single strand necklaces. The sweetheart style neckline is an easy neckline to match your bridesmaid necklaces to, as it allows itself to diversify. This style dress is a nice selection if you are planning on having different styles of bridesmaid necklaces for your maids, but the same dress.

The V-Neck Neckline

The V neckline is exactly as it sounds, the front of the dress, and sometimes the back of the dress forms a V shaped design, giving a more plunging neckline. This style of dress is complimented perfectly with a Y – drop or pendant style necklace. The V neck also looks nice with a single or double stranded necklace and looks nice with a choker style necklace as well.

The Square Neckline

The square neckline is close to the scoop style neckline, but has a straight cut across the chest. This style of neckline is complimented nicely by choker style necklaces. The choker style necklace annunciates the neckline, making it stand out. In addition to the choker style necklace, the double and single strand necklace styles also compliment this style nicely.

The Queen Anne Neckline

The Queen Anne neckline has the same chest front as the sweetheart style neckline, but has a high neckline that forms a diamond shape. The perfect and simple style necklace that compliments this style of gown is the pendant or y – drop style. The pendant and y drop style necklace is a dainty and delicate accessory to this style of neckline and is paired nicely with drop earrings.

The Halter Neckline

The Halter style neckline is a sleeveless style with the dress wrapping around the neckline, leaving the back of the dress bare. There is no necklace that can be worn that won’t touch the fabric of this style of gown. The best combination for this style of gown is a chunky bracelet and flashy elegant earrings.

Whether you select the same bridesmaid jewelry for all of your bridesmaids or different styles for the different attendants, use this guide to help you make your final decisions. Make sure that the colors either match or compliment your bridesmaid gowns. In addition to the color match, use the style of wedding as a guide for how fancy or simple your bridesmaid jewelry is. If you are having a formal wedding, wear classy and elegant jewelry. If you are having a simple garden wedding, select simple but sophisticated "bridesmaid jewelry". Your bridesmaids will cherish and remember the beautiful bridesmaid jewelry you gave to them to wear on your special day for a lifetime.

By: bonie beckUnknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8725750023711252890.post-33180839236434683942007-07-29T13:38:00.000+08:002007-07-29T13:48:09.669+08:00Bridesmaid Gift Guide - Gift Ideas, Cost Considerations and EtiquetteBridesmaid Gift Guide - Gift Ideas, Cost Considerations and Etiquette. They gave you a bridal shower, threw you a bachelorette party, were a shoulder to cry on at times, but also a friend to laugh with; they are your dearest confidants. These friends have been chosen as your bridesmaids, special women in your life who have been there for you. You honor them by letting them play an integral role on your wedding day. They will be there to support you, adore you, and be beautiful figures to garnish your wedding party.

And for these reasons, these special women are deserving of a fitting bridesmaid gift, specialized to their liking, and personalized from your heart. Among the many purchases the bride must spend for her "wedding", she doesn't have to go for broke to buy her bridesmaids a personalized gift. Affordable or not, the giving of a bridesmaid gift shows your appreciation and consideration to these women. Here are some ideas for a "bridesmaid gift" to accommodate your budget.

*Photo albums*

Photo albums are great gifts to the bridesmaid who frequently takes pictures and these visual memories are worthy of being displayed. How many times have you developed your pictures, only to maintain the majority of exposures hidden away in storage? The five photos you decide to frame are spotlighted in your home while the rest of your pictures are collecting dust.

Photo albums are the solution to preserving and acknowledging these visual memories. Your budget can be flexible with photo albums, available at most stores and at various prices. Considering her favorite colors or designs will get you in the right mode to pick a fitting photo album for your bridesmaid.

*Perfume*

Fruit-scented body splash or celebrity-endorsed perfumes are just a few degrees of body scents that you can give your bridesmaid.

With the economical choice of body splash, you can throw in some other favors like lotions, soaps or scrubs, turning it into a gift basket. If you'd rather resort to an exclusive choice of perfume, department stores offer a wide selection of perfumes to choose from. Choosing perfume for your bridesmaid is a luxury that she might not indulge on unless it was a gift. The perfume you give your "bridesmaid" will be a refreshing scent as she uses it to wear on all occasions.

*Jewelry*

If your want to go a little further into your spending budget, your bridesmaid will always look splendid in jewelry. A way to honor her is by looking into a charm as a bridesmaid gift. A small charm will commemorate her role in her friend's wedding. If your bridesmaid has a charm bracelet, this special friend charm will be a great addition to her many charms.

If she doesn't have a bracelet, giving her a charm bracelet will encourage her to start collecting charms of some of her favorite treasures, starting with the friendship charm from you. Years after your wedding, your "bridesmaid" will remember the sentimental gift you've given her because it was thoughtful, not because it was expensive or low-priced. The budget you have set for a bridesmaid gift should be carefully considered, but just remember the wise belief that it is the thought that counts.

by: Stephanie TuiaUnknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8725750023711252890.post-40605866552712587612007-07-29T12:59:00.000+08:002007-07-29T13:10:31.962+08:00Bridesmaid Jewelry GiftsBridesmaid Jewelry Gifts. You have selected your bridesmaids because they are uniquely special to you, that’s why they will be standing next to you on your "wedding day". Now, to say thank you for always being there and to share this special moment with you. Part of the wedding plans included the selection of your bridesmaids gowns and the colors and themes you have selected for your wedding day.

To finish off the final details, comes selecting your shoes, hair styles, purses, accessories and of course bridesmaid jewelry. When it comes time to select the bridesmaid jewelry the special women in your life will wear for your wedding day, you should first consider the style of "bridesmaid gown" they will be wearing. Is your wedding formal? Are you getting married outside, a garden wedding? Is your "wedding" a more casual affair? Selecting your bridesmaid jewelry by the style of wedding you are hosting can help in your "bridesmaid jewelry" selection. You must consider the formality of the event.

If you are having a casual picnic lunch, probably "dressing" your girls in chunky chokers is not really the look you want. You may want something more light and airy, such as illusion bridesmaid jewelry. If your wedding is very formal, you may want to place swarovski crystal and pearl bridesmaid chunky necklaces, earrings or bracelets. Another consideration to make when selecting your bridesmaids jewelry is the neckline style of your "bridesmaids gowns". For example, if your bridesmaids are wearing strapless dresses, a popular style this season, there are many options you have for bridesmaid necklace styles and types to choose from.

For instance, a strapless dress looks great with choker style necklaces, single and double strand necklaces, and pendant style or y drop style necklaces. All of these necklace styles can really compliment the strapless dress style. The color of the bridesmaid jewelry your attendants will wear is important in the selection of your "bridesmaid jewelry".

Many brides are choosing coordinating colors instead of a perfect match for their bridesmaid jewelry this season. For example, if the wedding colors are ivory and mint green and the bridesmaids dresses are mint green, ivory pearls would compliment the other colors of the wedding and have a pop effect of color that stands out. Regardless of the style or color of "bridesmaid jewelry" you select, consider the woman you are giving it to. Everyone has their own style, and jewelry is a great way to express that uniqueness.

So if you are considering purchasing different styles for each bridesmaid, but keeping the color of the jewelry consistent, it is a nice way to showcase each individuals taste with congruency.Giving your bridesmaids bridesmaid jewelry for a gift is a wonderful idea. Your bridesmaids will cherish the bridesmaid jewelry you give them forever. It is a token of your special day that they were part of. Don’t forget, once you’ve got the bridesmaid jewelry picked out – add a little note of how much you appreciate all they have done for you in the planning of your big, special day!

by: Bonnie beckUnknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8725750023711252890.post-31017241461519029912007-07-29T12:46:00.000+08:002007-07-29T12:59:39.441+08:00A Guide to Bridesmaids DressesA Guide to Bridesmaids Dresses. Choosing "bridesmaids dresses" is no easy task, but it's one of the most exciting and often the most emotional parts of the wedding planning process. Inviting the special women in your life to be your bridesmaids; your sisters, your lifelong friends, your cousins and special family friends; is a way to seal important friendships during this very special time in your life.

Choosing the "bridesmaids dress", whether you do it yourself or together with your bridesmaids, is an integral part of the tradition.Tips on Choosing the Right Dresses for your "Bridesmaids" Naturally, it's the bride who will be the focus of attention on her wedding day, but it's important for the "bridesmaids" to look gorgeous too. Choose something simple and not overdecorated or detailed, but which will make your bridesmaids look elegant, sophisticated and feminine. It's important to choose a dress style which will flatter everyone's figure.

This is never an easy task, but empire waists and A-line or princess skirts will tend to suit most shapes and sizes. If your "bridesmaids" have very different figure types and heights, and you think they might feel uncomfortable in matching dresses, a nice alternative is to choose the fabrics and colors, and allow each individual bridesmaid to choose her own dress style.Always keep a budget in mind for your bridesmaids gowns. It's very unfair to expect your bridesmaids to buy overly "expensive dresses", and it may damage your relationship with some of the most important women in your life. Around $100-250 each dress is generally considered a reasonable cost.

If you have your heart set on a more expensive gown, you might consider making up the difference yourself.Classic Looks for BridesmaidsAny kind of formal gown, semi-formal or evening dress can be chosen as a bridesmaids gown, so you have literally thousands of options. Satin, organza, chiffon, georgette, tulle, lace, brocades, and crepe are all classic fabrics for bridesmaid dresses. Whether you choose real silks and imported laces, or more economical alternatives will depend on your budget. It's traditional to choose a one-piece dress or gown, but separates are definitely an option.

Mixing and matching separate blouses and skirts makes it easier to find a style which suits each individual bridesmaid. You should think about the time of year you plan to hold the wedding, and how this will effect your "gown choices". Choose lighter fabrics for summer, and a sleeveless or even a strapless dress style. If your wedding is planned for a cooler time in the year, long skirts and sleeves are best, or include a shawl or wrap as part of the outfit. It's a nice idea to choose your colors according to the time of year also.

Fresh, soft colors are lovely for spring and summer; golds, copper tones and rusty reds for fall, and deep marine blues, teal green, deep burgundies and plums, or platinum shades for winter. Choose colors which will match the flowers which are in bloom at the time of year, so your gowns will tone in nicely with the bouquets. Discussing your color ideas with your favorite florist will make the job of choosing colors much easier.

For a very sophisticated, formal look, black or black and white never goes out of style.. Alternating black and white solid panels has a very dramatic effect. For a more romantic look, use white or a solid color overlaid with black lace, either as a feature of the dress itself, or as a shawl or wrap.Soft, pretty pastel shades like lilac, powder pink, cream, platinum and eggshell blue are always popular colors for bridesmaid dresses, because they always look good together with the white or ivory shade of the bridal gown.

Adding dramatic color accents in the bouquets creates a very attractive look for the wedding party as a whole.Another idea which works very well for bridesmaids gowns is to use a silk or satin fabric with a subtle crossweave in a contrasting color, and match the bouquets to the crossweave color. The bouquets will bring out and enhance the color highlights in the dress fabric, which has a very pretty effect."Accessories" for BridesmaidsThe simplest look will tend to work best, so accessories should best be kept to a minimum.

Often a simple pair of earrings, a brooch or necklace is all the jewelry you'll need. It's traditional for the bride to give the bridesmaids their jewelry as a gift, which is a lovely idea. For a very formal look, shawls, gloves and even small tiaras are always appropriate as bridesmaids' accessories.Keep comfort as well as style in mind when you choose shoes for your bridesmaids. Very high heels may be uncomfortable to stand in for any period of time. Also consider the fact that the bridesmaids will most likely be wearing the shoes for the wedding ceremony and the reception, so choose shoes which will be comfortable to wear all day, then dance away the night.

by: Lynn DonnUnknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8725750023711252890.post-69995074774429206642007-07-29T11:44:00.000+08:002008-12-11T22:55:37.097+08:00Dressing Your Bridesmaids Dressing Your Bridesmaids. For a bride, shopping for bridesmaid dresses can be one of the most difficult aspects of wedding planning. How can the bride find a gown for her maids that will display her own taste, look great on every girl and will fit into the financial picture? There are so many colors and styles of dresses to choose from. The "bridesmaids" themselves may vary greatly in size and they want a flatteringly gown that makes them feel good.

The bride and her "bridesmaids" may be in their mid-20's or older and want a more sophisticated look in the bridesmaids gown. The bride also has the task of choosing a dress that will look good with each girl's skin tone, hair color and figure.

Choosing the right gown can be a challenge, but it's not impossible. The bride should start the decision process early. It's ideal to actually place the order for the gowns about four months before the wedding. This will allow time for alterations, shopping for shoes and other accessories and leave time to dye the shoes to match the "gown". The bride will find it most helpful to shop with the one "bridesmaid" whose fashion sense she shares.

The ultimate decision about the perfect "bridesmaid gown" will be the bride's. The first step to choosing a bridesmaid gown is to determine the formality, style and fabric of the "wedding gown". The bridesmaid dresses shouldn't overpower or clash with the "wedding gown". For today's more simple bridal styles, nice detailing in the maids gowns creates a good look for the group. Back accents like straps, halter tops and simple beading are important for ceremony photography.

A quality gown of good fabric and construction is necessary for the active "bridesmaids" who will be walking, dancing or running errands. Who needs to worry about seams splitting apart or buttons falling off during the wedding? The next step for most brides is choosing the gown color. This can be done by looking at bridesmaid swatches in the bridal shop.

Most manufacturers make "bridesmaids dresses" in anywhere from a few colors to as many as fifty. Choosing the actual color will narrow the choice of gowns to a more manageable number. The bride must then consider the size ranges and figure types of her maids. Most bridal parties have an average of two full-figured members.

If this is the case, many times it's best to begin choosing a gown style with the larger maids in mind. Some larger girls feel comfortable in spaghetti straps or even strapless gowns, but many would rather have at least a short sleeve or perhaps a shawl. The smaller girls can usually wear any style. A-line styles look good on most everyone. A two-piece style with a longer top covering the hip bone is another good style. Almost 50% of "wedding parties" will include a pregnant bridesmaid. Extra fabric can be ordered to create a maternity side panel. A few designers are now creating maternity bridesmaids.

A new marketing trend for bridesmaids is the idea of separates. Most manufactures now feature at least some of their styles in separate tops and skirts. Separates offer some flexibility for the maids as they are able to choose different sizes for the top and skirt and can accommodate many different figures types. The "bride" can also choose the color and manufacturer of the separates while letting the maids have the freedom to create a style they will be comfortable in. In these sensitive economic times, many "gown" manufacturers are adjusting their prices to meet everyone's financial needs.

Many designers have lowered their prices with no reduction in the quality of the garments. This year's selection of gowns should meet the approval of everyone in the wedding party. The bride may save time by doing her preliminary shopping online. She can narrow her choices and email styles she likes to her maids. Shopping on the internet may be the most logical choice for some "brides" when her maids live in different parts of the country.

Online ordering entails the maids obtaining their own measurements and alterations which must be done correctly for the best fit. Be sure to order very early to allow extra time for shipping the gowns. The bridesmaid look is not complete without shoes and accessories. Shoes are available in many styles in fabrics which can be custom dyed to match the gown. Also popular are the clear vinyl shoes in strappy sandals some with changeable colored ribbon straps. One shoe company is now producing 100% silk shoes with leather soles in colorfast fabrics available in 9 styles in 15 colors that can be special ordered for delivery in about one week. Matching wrist or elbow gloves offers a sophisticated look.

A simple rhinestone or pearl necklace and earring set will enhance the look of your maids. With all the choices in bridesmaid gowns available today, every member of the wedding party should be happy with the final results and will spend the wedding day celebrating with the bride and her groom.

by: Roana roseUnknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8725750023711252890.post-37675415475281862702007-07-27T13:39:00.000+08:002007-07-27T13:44:51.105+08:00Beach Wedding - 4 Tips For Buying Bridesmaid DressBeach Wedding - 4 Tips For Buying Bridesmaid dress. Beach weddings often indicate an occasion that is less glamorous compared to the traditional weddings. This does not mean though that the bride and the bridesmaids need not get glammed up. They have to – just not over the top – because it wouldn't look good in the laidback setting of the ocean behind them.

1. For beach wedding bridesmaid dresses, just make sure that the length of the gowns do not touch the sand. Ideally, the length is up to the calf. Bridesmaids must still look elegant but they should also be wearing dresses that allow them to easily walk on the beach.

These dresses can either be with sleeves or strapless but these should also match with the gown or the dress of the bride. Whatever style the bride's beach wedding dress is, it should be complemented by the "beach wedding bridesmaid dresses".

2. The bride's beach wedding dress and the beach "wedding bridesmaid" dresses should also have matching hem lengths. For example, if the bride is wearing a gown that is of full length, then the bridesmaids should wear dresses or gowns of any length.

However, if the bride's beach wedding dress is shorter than the traditional gown, then the beach "wedding dresses" must also be short.

3. If the beach "wedding bridesmaid" dresses are strapless or are backless, then the bride must order wraps for them. Remember that the weather on the beach is so unpredictable. There is a possibility that the wedding day may be windy or cloudy.

Therefore, when the bride is buying beach "wedding bridesmaid" dresses, she should also look for designs that already have matching wraps. If not, then she must go to bridal shop or a formal wear shop that sells these items. She just has to set the wraps and the beach "wedding bridesmaid" dresses side by side to check that these match.

4. Also note that it is hard to walk on the sand so there is no point to wear stocking and heels. Dressier dresses require strappy sandals with short heels. If it is a more casual design, then one can just opt for flip flops with stylish decorations. Go for a bare look.

by: Antony leeUnknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8725750023711252890.post-5859564050038028192007-07-27T11:10:00.000+08:002007-07-27T11:18:29.357+08:00Bridesmaid Jewelry Should Complement the Colors and Styles of the DressesBridesmaid Jewelry Should Complement the Colors and Styles of the Dresses.
